This Holiday, Give the Gift of Music!

We are so excited to announce that we have partnered up with professional Recording Wizard, Felipe Patino, owner and engineer of Green Door Recording Studio, to offer our students a professional recording and recording experience. It is the perfect gift for family, friends, and for the students themselves. We have been looking into doing this for a couple years now but couldn’t find the right fit, personality-wise or price-wise. I (Jeff Sollohub) asked friend and former bandmate, Felipe Patino, if he had any suggestions, never thinking he would be onboard because of his high demand and his (deservedly) higher rates. But because he believes in the significance of this opportunity for our budding artists as well as him just being an incredibly nice and generous guy, he said he would love to do it and at more than 50% off the regular cost!

“I can say it was truly an honor being part of such an amazing crew of talented engineers. I was able to learn the importance of a song and what it means to create something that speaks to others. Liberating yourself from the technical aspect of recording music but focusing more on the song itself, arrangement, melody, feeling, etc… that’s really what matters the most and those guys have that down like nobody else!”

–Felipe talking about working at the Blasting Room

The cost is $45. It will include a set-up/sound check and then as many takes as we can get in ½ hour-45min as well as ½-1 hr of mixing/mastering(editing). It will include a CD and a digital file that you can email/burn to discs. In addition, if you choose to record at his studio, students will be given the opportunity to observe the recording process, if they’d like, of the student before or after them.

“To me, recording music is capturing the artist’s vision, without getting caught up on the many tools, techniques and resources available to do so. It’s all about delivering the artist’s intention and emotion in the best way possible..”
